Lighting diagrams Brian Parkin 9781502947888 Books Reviews
Read this “book” for $0.99 or free on Prime, but don’t make the mistake I made and purchase it for $6.00! This is really more of a pamphlet with diagrams that can likely be found and downloaded for free. There is very little else in this 20 page “book” of any value other than the diagrams.
It's ok but it would benefit from exposure information to help set up light ratios. For example if the main light is ƒ8 and the fill light is ƒ5.6 that tells me the light ratio and helps me determine the distance and power setting of each light.
Who doesn't want to be a photographer these days? Everyone's got a camera, even if it's on their phones, but does everyone have what it takes to make their photos look stunning?
This book will help not only professionals, but also amateurs and definitely newbies (like myself), because the images explain quite clearly what you have to do to get the desired effect. Hopefully, with the help of this book I'll get a chance to create some great DIY at-home photoshoots.
Lighting Diagrams Third Edition. Outstanding book for your at a dirt cheap price. Actual physical layouts for how to set up your portrait studio lighting, reflectors, backgrounds, and most important your subjects. Have fun with this one, and enjoy the benefit of it being electronic for years of use without ruining the book!
A bit thin in substance. Very Basic diagrams. Although you can get the idea and use this as a quick pocket reference, you can tell the absolute cheesiness of publication when you look at the cover. Very Poorly Produced. I'll keep it for the $6 but be forewarned, you get the same information in numerous other publications and much more.
I bought this on a lark since it was dirt cheap. I was hoping for a reasonable coverage of lighting setups and I got more than I expected. Pretty much everything I wanted to see was there and a few I was not expecting, like shooting pets with umbrellas (as you can assume that you will be on site most of the time.) All in all, a very good book at the current very low price. It is short, but pretty sweet.
As a savvy hobby photographer I am asked a lot to take pictures of my friends and since I have all the great lightning equipment I decided to do something good with it and see if I could utilize it all fully by buying this book and learning about lighting diagrams. In the book you will find detailed descriptions of all the setups including sample pictures and a diagram on how to setup all the equipment to get the desired effect. This is a great book which I will use as a reference now to all my lighting setups.
I'm certainly not a professional photographer but I found the information contained in this concise little document to be very helpful. The explanations are easy to understand and the diagrams are simple but to the point. I look forward to trying all of the techniques, as I've just purchased a new camera.
